We believe that sports, especially football has the power to transform lives. Along with our football trainings, festivals and leagues, we also conduct various life skills workshops for our children as we want to develop all round citizens.
According to the Ministry of Corporate Affairs’ 2014 mandate, "training to promote rural sports, nationally recognised sports, Paralympic sports and Olympic sports" is now a recognised avenue for companies to invest through their CSR initiatives.
We have tied up with 16 schools across Goa to provide grassroots level football training to the students. It provides AIFF certified football coaches and equipment to each centre and runs weekly training sessions all through the year.
The Foundation reaches out to over 1500 children across the state between the age groups of 6-14 through this program. Besides football training we hold workshops on various socially relevant topics with our children to develop them as responsible and aware citizens.
Each of our centres is supervised by a development officer and has dedicated coaches. All our coaches are AIFF certified with a minimum D license. Other than that, we also have workshops on child care and protection with our coaches as it is of priority that they understand the temperaments children they deal with.
Our coaches act as mentors to over 1600 children. Our coaches are trained to be mentors who not only impart football knowledge and technique but are trained to instil values to our grassroots children that can benefit them and their communities both on and off the field.
This is our statewide league that has over 64 schools, 16 of which are grassroot centres, participating in it to claim the Title. The league is conducted over 3 age categories, U8, U10 and U12 and is open to both boys and girls.
These leagues attract state’s best young talent come out to compete against one another. The league also features girls participating. This is a huge step forward for girls football in Goa, as it allows girls to participate in competitive football at a young age.
Our Pop-Up Football Festivals are organised at schools and villages that are not part of our grassroots program. The festivals are open to girls and boys from the ages of 6-14 and are conducted in a tournament format. We conduct around 40 pop-up festivals a year with approximately 100 children at each location. That’s a huge reach!
Our Football Festival fortifies gender equality and gives children from all across the state the opportunity to participate in a professionally organised tournament. It also allows for spotting of talent from remote areas.
